Ceremonial Mask

Ritual mask showing a boar, used during propitiatory ceremonies before sowing the rice to ward off malevolent influence and for asking the benediction of the rice plants, in order to get a rich harvest and assure the community’s prosperity. It comes from the Mahakam River area.
