Ceremonial Mask

Ritual mask used during propitiatory ceremonies before sowing the rice to ward off malevolent influence and for asking for the benediction of the rice plants, in order to get a rich harvest and assure the community’s prosperity. The face is characterised by an elongated chin shaped. It comes from the Mahakam River area.
