Ceremonial Mask

Ritual mask used during propitiatory ceremonies before sowing the rice, to ward off malevolent influence and for asking the benediction of the rice plants, in order to get a rich harvest and assure the community’s prosperity. The face is characterised by a general deformation of the traits and by perforated ears from which hang big pointed earrings.
