Anthropomorphic Stick

Wooden stick carved and with fretwork, depicting an anthropomorphic figure with a powerful body. The oblong face is framed by two strong arms carved in high relief. The hands clasped on the head have three-hooked fingers. The sinuous lines and the disposition of the limbs form a harmonious image. Above the head two mythical aso’ «dog-dragons» are linked together by the mandibles forming a spiral. The stick, probably an amulet, shows refined decorations which underline the formal aspect.
