Charm Container. Solep
Chiselled bamboo container used to store particularly important objects like written documents or amulets. The stopper is finely decorated with an anthropomorphic figure sitting in squatting position. The vigorous, nude body is carved in the round. The absence of ornamental elements accentuates the striking expressiveness of the face with its deep features and the big bulging eyes. The crown on its head most probably refers to its divine origin.
