Charm. Karuhei tatau
Wooden amulet showing a standing anthropomorph figure on a cylindrical basis. These kinds of amulets, known as karuhei, were conceived after certain revelatory dreams. An evident oneiric concept marks the traits of the face: it depicts a dilatation of the free lineaments which have a tendency to flow together and blend in a fluid merge. The body is decorated with elements of material culture, such as a small basket and a dagger, while the back has a tricuspid star, reference to the celestial world.
