Anthropomorphic Figure. Patunkng

Sculpture of a man with a lizard on his shoulder. Both figures are realized in an accurate technique for the smooth faces and in an impressionism technique for the jagged bodies. The man, enclosed on himself, is holding a cock close to his chest with his fancy six-fingered hand, while the other hand lies on his navel. Below the perizoma his vigorous legs flow into the wooden section at the height of the calves. Considering the dimensions it might be one of the rare ironwood statues produced for healing ceremonies or an effigy of a «powerful» ancestor which brings its prosperity to the clan.
