Ceremonial Spoon
This wooden spoon depicts the mythical aso’(dog-dragon) guardian, showing it in an exceptional position, crouched and with the ceremonial hudoq mask on its face. The harmonious sinuosity of the handle ends in a spherical bowl. The elaborate upper profile of the drop-shaped bowl allows precise dosage of the liquid. The aso’ wearing a hudoq mask, the geometrical decorations on the wooden body, and the particular structure of the spoon, suggest its use for ceremonial purpose.
