Hat. Seraung
Typical sun-hat of the Kenyah decorated with beadwork depicting
deity faces which are disposed in two circular rows following a
central symmetry. This is an ancient weaving work recuperated
from an old hat and placed over another one; this illustrates
the high value attributed to such works. The patina of the bead
panel shows some chromatic flashes which are more saturated than
others; this is due to the repair of the old beadwork before its
replacement. The brim of the hat is surrounded by a row of small
arcs.
